This past weekend, 89 enthusiastic shooters gathered to compete in our annual Cowboy action match, “Westmatch”. The weather was a winning combination of sunshine and perfect temperatures, just like a cowboy’s favorite pair of boots! - [Muy Malo, June, 29th](https://rucascowboy.com/muy-malo-june-29th/): June 29th brought us “Muy Malo”, a rough translation would be Lots of Ammo. and lots of ammo was needed. Only three escaped with a clean record, Rick O’Shea, RP Dodge and Buffalo Belle met the challenge.

In no particular order, Slick Ranger, RP Dodge, Jed I Knight, and Carlsbad Kid were all Clean, way to go guys.

- [Sunday April 6th](https://rucascowboy.com/sunday-april-6th/): Saturday & Sunday, April 5th & 6th. This weekends matches were both, challenging at times and fast at others. Stages 1 & 2 required focus on the front sights and patients while engaging small rifle / pistol fallers. Next, turn up the heat for stages 3 & 4 while stages 5 & 6 required your track shoes and some strategies, shooters that shot both Saturday and Sunday had a distanced advantage over the single day competitors.

Thirteen shooters huddle under cover, one posse not wanting to give up. It was a close call at the end of the second stage in bay one, either make a run for home or stick it out. It didn’t really take much prodding and it was decided that with some miner tweaking we could shoot stages three and four in bay two as “stand and deliver”. Saturday morning started off with gray skies and light rain but that wouldn’t last, before the first round went down range the rain had subsided and the winds became calm. - [Friday Jan 3rd Shot in the Dark, Part V](https://rucascowboy.com/friday-jan-3rd/): Friday nights 5th annual “Shot in the dark” was a beaming success Thanks to the hard work and dedication of T-Bone Shorty and has crew. 37 participants from as far away as Montana, Idaho and Oregon did their best with “finding the front sight”, a common battle cry of the night. Only two skilled Cowboys cleaned all 4 stages and walked away with the coveted RUCAS Clean Match pin. Congratulations’ to Rick O’Shea and Crisco

- [Saturday Nov 30th, Clean match report.](https://rucascowboy.com/saturday-nov-30th/): Wow, November 30th was a great day, sun was out all day, temps were cool. 22 shooters enjoyed the six stages presented by our gust match director Tacoma Slick AKA Slick Ranger. Five sharp shooters made it through all six stages clean, No misses or no procedures. lets give a big shout out to RP Dodge, Jimmy Slick, Hard Way Macrae, Appy Dan, and in his first appearance to the clean match club River Eddy, Congratulations guys.

Todays match yielded 9 clean shooters, Hazy Gray, Cedar County Sheriff, Half Fast Smitty, Buddy Wainwright, Slick Ranger, RP Dodge, CB, GD Rattler and Mongoose rounding out list. Nice job to all.
